Janine Lai
"A hybrid of multiple cultures, Taiwanese Canadian vocalist and writer Janine Lai was always surrounded by music.
She grew up listening and singing everything from
soda commercials to Ella Fitzgerald. To follow her dream of performing, Janine
started her training at a young age, training in musical theater, ballet, tap
dance, classical and jazz vocals.
Taking inspiration from inventive writer/performers such as Bjork, Jill Scott,
Amel Larrieux, and Nina Simone, vocalist/writer Janine creates melodies that
blends rock, soul, pop, and electronica into one complete package.
Currently she is working on building her sound
with producers Donald Sheffey from Weezie Productions, Sergio Sergio of Sergio
Tapia Productions, and Dirty Boogie of AB/NRML."
