Talent - Producer/Composer/Singer

Ernest McCullough

Ernest McCullough’s rich baritone voice swells with controlled power as he seemingly draws from a deep well within of life’s experiences and emotions. Although his roots are deep within rhythm and blues, his voice transcends musical styles.

At first one notices Ernest’s strong, almost statue-like posture, but then something catches your attention that can’t be easily defined. Finally, it hits you—he doesn’t see the crowd’s rapt appreciation of his musical interpretation.

This versatile vocalist/composer cannot see their pleasure because he lost his eyesight as a young child.

Ernest was nine years old when the final diagnosis came that he would never see again. He accepted no pity and refused to be sidelined by his disablement. Instead, Earnest channeled all his energy into living his life to the fullest. Music became the wings to help him soar above the pain and circumstances.

Soon it became his driving passion.

Yet he didn’t lose himself in the world of music. Just as passionately, Ernest applied himself in school, determined to overcome obstacles in a school not geared to facilitate students with seeing disabilities. He diligently mastered his academics and found languages and computers to be particularly interesting.

Today, Ernest is fluent in Spanish, Italian and Latin. He’s also the Director of the Music Department at his church. Throughout a week he leads thousands of people into praise and worship moving easily from a more traditional style, to urban soul, to rhythm and blues.
